Gliding Australia has been working with CASA on access to Class A airspace over the last six months. CASA 32/22 – Use of Class A Airspace by Sailplanes Instrument 2022 will no longer be renewed. Our access to Class A airspace is now predicated on changes to technology allowing the use of Transponders, similar to NZ and EU.
Gliding Australia is reviewing the technology needed and will publish equipment options and functional requirements as soon as possible.
